Penguin Isle, A Stress-free Adorable Idle Simulation Game

Penguins (Spheniscidae) are adorable aquatic birds that can't fly. In general, penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere. Worldwide there are 16 species of penguins depending on whether two Eudyptula species are counted as species. This time, the penguins will be present in a mobile game called Penguin Isle.

What is Penguin Isle?

Penguin Isle is an idle mobile game about creating a penguin community on ice. It’s the kind of game you can play while watching television or sitting in a waiting room, as it doesn’t take much skill or attention. Penguin Isle was developed by Sangheon Kim and Dongjun Kim, the co-CEOs of game developer Fantome. This adorable, aesthetically cute, and relaxing game was published by Habby on August 26, 2019, in Singapore. The game is available for free to download now over on the App Store and Google Play.

Penguin Life on The Island

In Penguin Isle, players can review and manipulate the lives of penguins on an island. It tells the story of the penguins on the Island. But even though it is "showing the lives of the penguins", it doesn't mean that this game is realistic. The penguins in this game have human-like abilities, such as fishing or farming. Quite unique, right?

Basically, Penguin Isle is a city management game, where the player is in charge of deciding what is built on top of it.  Players collect money by establishing a habitat, wherein the habitat, the penguins will work to make money.  After the money is collected, the player must touch the coins in the habitat to pick them up and use the coins to build other habitats, develop existing habitats, or can also buy new penguins.

These are some of the reasons why you might give this game a try!

Automation

Because the type of the game is somewhat similar to the idle clicker genre, players will also be able to automate the collection of money on Penguin Isle.  But to buy the automation, players must use a currency other than coins, namely “Hearts”.  These “Hearts” are obtained by making the residents of Penguin Isle happy, and touching the “Hearts” icon that comes out of the penguins.

The greatest attraction of Penguin Isle is the adorable 3D animated penguins. They will walk around, do work like humans, and even players can take their photos as a souvenir. There are many habitats that players can build which will make you curious about what other habitats will be built next.

No WiFi connection or Mobile Data needed

Penguin Isle is a free-to-play game that can be played without the internet needs at all. Collecting coins in the game also runs automatically (when it has been unlocked), so players do not need to open this game at any time. There is also a microtransaction shop that sells premium currencies such as "Diamond".

With easy and simple gameplay, lots of penguins and arctic animals, cute animal animations, and beautiful scenery of the arctic world, coupled with a relaxing song feel, Penguin Isle is a relaxing game that should be added to your “must download” list!

Personal Thoughts on This Game

My little nephew and I have been playing this game together for quite some time now, and here are some of my thoughts on Penguin Isle.

The game helps players, especially kids or younger audiences to practice and improve self-control. Penguin Isle is designed this way to help the player focus on simple activities and regulate their emotions. For players who are stressed or struggled with managing their emotions, they can try to play this game when they feel like they need to take a break. The game is not meant for long play sessions, so it is perfect for taking a moment to center and enjoy a short break.

This game also helps players to develop a systematic approach for setting and achieving goals, because the resources that we acquire in Penguin Isle are earned through the addition of penguins, resources, and decorations. We also need these resources to add more features to our island. This requires some planning and prioritization because we can not purchase everything all at once and need to save up for certain purchases. Players who struggle with planning may find that they are always running low on resources and unable to unlock the items they want the most. These players should try looking at all the options available before they make any purchases and prioritize what they want to add to their island.

However, after a few months of playing, the advertisements became irritating and irrelevant. Oftentimes, the game crashes and is automatically forced close.

But overall, I still enjoy playing the game. It’s an 8/10 for me! 👍
